DOUBLE DAPPLES

We at Dachsiedowns endeavour to improve Miniature Longhair Dachshunds to the best of our ability, which has included importing several dogs from New Zealand, and more recently one from the USA.. 

When we first started out we set ourselves some personal guidelines and standards to which we breed by.
One of these is we don't practice "dapple to dapple" breedings. While we are not here to judge others breeding practices, this is something we feel very strongly about.
Our main objective is to breed healthy puppies free from genetic defects. 
Doubling up on the lethal Merle (M) gene we feel is counterproductive in this manner.
We personally cannot endorse those that following this breeding practice. For this reason, we will not let any Dachsiedowns puppies go to breeders who intentially breed dapple to dapple.
